Everything is Crab Best Pilfriends Achievement Guide

Eat a Golden fruit delivered by an allied Pilferret.

How to earn this achievement

Version 1.1 introduced occasional friendly enemies offering friendship. Accepting with the interact button Charms the creature, while attacking a friendly enemy removes its prompt. If a Pilferret offers friendship, use that interaction deliberately; seeing an animal near Darwin is not the same as accepting the invitation. The announcement does not promise a Pilferret offer in every run. Official 1.1 notes

Follow the fruit from ally to Darwin

Version 1.2 describes an eating event: a Golden fruit delivered by an allied Pilferret must be eaten. Charming the animal, seeing it nearby or finding an unrelated Golden fruit does not by itself establish that chain. The reward is the Pilferrets Tail cosmetic, rather than a promised combat bonus. Official 1.2 notes

The Social Pack and Charm Swarm routes are relevant to obtaining and keeping allies; they do not substitute for the delivery and eating steps. The official 1.1 notes say charmed Pilferrets return food faster and recognize Vegan players by bringing only vegetation. Those changes describe ally behaviour, not a guaranteed Golden-fruit delivery time or chance. Official 1.1 notes Official 1.2 notes

First exclude a misleading ownership cue: KingOfCharge explains that purple hearts mark a creature charmed by an enemy, not proof that Darwin recruited it. Separately, the official achievement condition requires a Golden fruit delivered by an allied Pilferret and eaten by Darwin. The enemy-charm report cannot establish that delivery chain or an achievement unlock. KingOfCharge · enemy-charm explanation Official 1.2 notes

FAQ

Does merely charming a Pilferret earn the achievement?

No. The official 1.2 condition requires eating a Golden fruit it delivered while allied. Ally status is relevant to the source of the fruit, but is not the entire condition. Official 1.2 notes

Do the patch notes guarantee when it will bring Golden fruit?

No. The reviewed notes explain faster food delivery and Vegan-aware food selection, but give no fixed Golden-fruit timer or guaranteed delivery count. They cannot support an exact waiting-time recipe. Official 1.1 notes Official 1.2 notes

Separate recruitment information from delivery odds

  1. The 1.1 update added exact Charm Chance tooltips to evolutions with a chance to Charm, showing chances for ordinary enemies and Alphas. Read the relevant target category before treating two offers as equivalent. This information concerns recruiting a creature; it is not the probability that an allied Pilferret will later bring Golden fruit. A displayed charm percentage cannot be reused as a fruit-drop percentage. Official 1.1 notes

  2. The same update says charmed Pilferrets and HatBirbs now exit Burrows, alongside the faster Pilferret return trips already described above. This is useful when comparing an old report of an ally remaining underground with a later-version attempt. It does not provide a delivery deadline: distinguish the creature’s ability to leave a Burrow from whether it has fetched and delivered the particular fruit required. 3. At the final step, identify both the delivery source and the food Darwin actually eats. A Golden fruit found independently lacks the stated Pilferret-delivery link; a delivery left uneaten lacks the stated eating event. The cosmetic reward follows the completed condition. These are separate checks in the official wording, so a missing unlock should be investigated along that chain rather than inferred from the ally’s appearance. Official 1.2 notes

Update history

: Replaced generic ally advice with the friendly-offer interaction; separated Charm Chance, leaving Burrows, fruit delivery and eating the required fruit.
