Choose your next goal

Everything is Crab Guide

Choose a guide by the decision that is stopping your progress: securing a first victory, reaching food, handling a boss or meeting an exact unlock condition. The opening routes explain those tasks separately so that a damage build does not silently become a no-damage achievement plan. Card directories then let you compare the effects and prerequisites of the choices actually offered. This reading guide now brings the player-guide comparisons beside the mechanics they discuss and retains the version limits of older recommendations. Read the three starting pages in order, then return to the specific card, challenge or achievement that needs attention.

  1. First win

Plan a first victory around food access, a usable attack and an escape. Compare offered choices with those needs before committing to a named build.

  2. Food and leveling

Separate food progress, feeding speed, feeding distance and diet effects. Match the improvement to the shortage: finding food, reaching it safely or spending less time eating.

  3. Regular bosses

Diagnose the failed encounter through movement, escape space, recovery and useful damage windows. More damage does not replace a path to food or a safe retreat.

Before choosing a route

  1. Name the goal: an ordinary win, a genetic unlock, or a named achievement or challenge. Check its restrictions before choosing evolutions.
  2. Look at where the attempt stopped: food collection, a boss encounter, or a goal-breaking action. Use that question to choose a guide below.
  3. Compare recommendations with your available genetics and evolutions. A result screenshot shows what one player finished with; it does not show every choice or guarantee the same result.

Get through the next run

First win

Plan a first victory around food access, a usable attack and an escape. Compare offered choices with those needs before committing to a named build.

Food and leveling

Separate food progress, feeding speed, feeding distance and diet effects. Match the improvement to the shortage: finding food, reaching it safely or spending less time eating.

Regular bosses

Diagnose the failed encounter through movement, escape space, recovery and useful damage windows. More damage does not replace a path to food or a safe retreat.

Plan a specific target

Highborn

Separate Highborn’s returned-damage unlock from its starting effects. The guide preserves the developer’s damage-type distinction so that retaliation and other damage are not treated interchangeably.

Hump

Hump increases Max HP when Health Food is eaten at full health. Compare that conditional growth with the immediate defense needed when repeated damage prevents the trigger.

Wounded

Review Wounded’s healing restrictions and dated changes before choosing a recovery plan. The linked player examples retain their own modes and outcomes instead of establishing a universal route.

Pressure 14

Compare the reported Pressure 14 approaches with the tools available in your run. Focus on the stated obstacle and route conditions rather than assuming the next clear requires one fixed build.

Pressure 15 and Stubborn

Separate a Pressure 15 attempt from the Stubborn Genetic unlock question. Read the reported route, its limitations and the exact requirement before treating those goals as equivalent.

Choose a detour or platform

Mushroom effects

Compare mushroom effects, food needs and detour costs. Identify the pickup before changing a safe route, and distinguish documented interactions from uncertainty about an unknown mushroom.

Map and points of interest

Compare Giant Mushroom choices and other detours with the reward your run needs. Distinguish a food or movement problem from a pickup that merely looks convenient.

Platforms and cloud play

Check official platform announcements, PC storefronts and cloud access separately. A streaming option, planned native release and unofficial mod describe different ways of using the game.

Check the exact achievement restriction

The Steam achievement descriptions distinguish three goals. Use the matching detail page before picking a route.

  • Dove — Dove requires winning without dealing damage. Separate that restriction from damage taken, and inspect player-owned passive damage before adopting a route that relies on survival or allies.
  • Can’t touch this — Complete a run without taking damage. Restoring health after a hit does not erase the earlier event, so check the whole-run result rather than the final health bar.
  • Zen — Prepare for a win with neither damage dealt nor damage taken. The guide separates the official meteor restriction from attributed player tactics and unshipped feature requests.

Look up a card or compare an example

Use the Wiki to find an entry by topic. Use the build and result collections to compare a planned route with documented examples.

  • Evolution effects and branches — Find an evolution by name, type or affinity, then compare its effect and role. Merged entries stay in the directory; retained detail guides explain specific interactions.
  • Genetic effects and unlocks — Compare starting Genetic effects with their separate unlock conditions. Keep version-specific changes and unresolved interactions visible before selecting the modifier for the next run.
  • Build routes — Compare beginner, poison, charm, stone, small-body and Carcinisation routes. Choose a goal that fits your current tools, then inspect the linked evolution choices and their trade-offs.
  • Achievement requirements — Compare forty Steam achievement conditions with eight additions described in version 1.2. Distinguish a single hit, accumulated damage, a victory and an all-Genetics completion requirement.
  • Wiki topic index — Browse the topic index to find evolutions, Genetics, achievements and other reference areas. Continue to the specific entry when a card effect or unlock condition is the question.
  • Community result records — Compare attributed player records by mode and goal. Final statistics, visible choices and missing selection history remain separate, so a result does not become a guaranteed build.

Take this data into the build planner

Choose candidates here, then use the planner to check slots, affinities, and final form; confirm exact values in game.

Player guide comparisons

Compare three player guides by topic and version limits before choosing a route. Two older achievement instructions were changed by the official 1.1 update.

CecilHorns and Tazuna Hayakawa cover achievement goals and example builds. Their challenge-mode shiny advice predates 1.1: the five- and fifteen-kind encounter achievements can now progress in Challenges.

yσℓσ builds around food collection and a large body. The later note reports runs without Robust; this is a player route, not a guarantee of finding that evolution.

hazutoko explicitly describes version 1.0.1 and permits meteor damage. Official 1.1 makes meteor damage invalidate Zen; do not carry that old exception into a later-version attempt.
