Deal 50,000 damage in a single run. Steam condition

Brutest achievement quick answer

Brutest requires 50,000 total damage in one eligible run, not a single 50,000-damage hit. Check the Codex mode requirement before starting.

In the linked discussion, Path_of_Circles suggests Body Slam or Trunk with Size and attack-area increases, plus the boss evolution they call Pollination to visit more points of interest and spawn enemies. The420elephant adds Social abilities to pull enemies closer. These are player suggestions, not a verified success rate.

Another commenter, abstractadvocat, proposes Chonky, More Mass, Muscular Tissue, Jaws/Stalker, Nocturnal, Ambush, Minimalist and Underdog for a large hit after leaving Burrow at night. That comment describes a single-hit combination; it does not report a completed 50,000-total-damage run.

In an October 2 reply to a player who was 10,000 damage short, abstractadvocat suggested a Physical route: splice Underdog with Spawn of Chaos, reroll the latter for a strong Physical start, then stack Chonky, More Mass and Muscular Tissue before adding Arms, Nocturnal, Jaws and an Ambush exit from Burrow. This is a route suggestion, not a documented Brutest unlock; verify the current card values in-game.

Build total damage in the eligible segment

A large hit and a large run total solve different goals. The Body Slam route and Physical route matter here when their attacks can be used repeatedly against available enemies. A proposed burst combination does not by itself show that the run accumulated 50,000 damage. Steam achievement condition Brutest player route discussion

SecretModeLiam’s reply to Visc covers the 500 single-hit and 35,000/50,000 total-damage achievements: they require normal mode rather than endless mode. Visc’s much larger reported endless totals therefore cannot be used as a documented Brutest unlock. Read the mode requirement alongside the total, rather than adding a later endless segment to rescue the attempt. SecretModeLiam’s developer reply

FAQ

Must I deal 50,000 damage in one hit?

No. Brutest counts total damage within a single eligible run. It is different from Ultrabonk’s single-hit target. A sequence of damaging attacks is relevant to the total; combining totals from separate runs is not the stated condition. Steam achievement condition

Are the named player combinations confirmed Brutest wins?

The Path_of_Circles and abstractadvocat passages are suggestions. In particular, the night-time Burrow combination describes a large hit, not a documented 50,000-total-damage result. Keep that limit when deciding how much of a route to copy. Brutest player route discussion

Preserve attack opportunities without relying on an old reset

The 1.1 notes fixed an exploit where re-equipping attacks let them be used again before their cooldown ended. A total-damage plan copied from a demonstration of that behaviour needs a different attack rhythm. During a gap between usable attacks, compare positioning for the next group with chasing a target you cannot hit yet; do not count repeated equipment changes as a current source of extra attacks. The patch does not publish a new universal cooldown value. Official 1.1 notes

Update history

: Added the 1.1 re-equipping cooldown-exploit fix to distinguish a current total-damage plan from an obsolete reset method, retaining the named player suggestions and their limits.
