Deal 500 or more damage with a single hit in a run. Steam condition

Ultrabonk achievement quick answer

Ultrabonk needs 500 or more damage in one eligible hit, but recent public evidence shows players still need to check the Codex mode tag before trusting the number alone.

If the Codex requirement points to Pressure runs, the hit must land before the run converts into Extinction or Endless.

Use Body Slam, high Physical scaling, or another dedicated one-hit payoff rather than a damage-over-time shell.

Read the hit and the mode together

The threshold is inclusive: one hit must deal at least 500 damage. Several smaller hits whose sum reaches 500 do not meet the single-hit wording. Likewise, a large total-damage result does not identify the size of its largest hit. This is why a Body Slam route and a Physical route are relevant planning references for a single payoff, rather than proof of an unlock. Steam achievement condition

In the Missing Achievements discussion, Visc reported nearly 4,000 damage per hit after a Pressure 12 run reached Extinction 12, yet the damage achievements remained locked. SecretModeLiam’s August 26 developer reply explains that these particular achievements require normal rather than endless mode. The reported number and the developer’s eligibility rule are separate evidence. SecretModeLiam’s developer reply

Use the mode checklist before treating a high number as a successful attempt. Waiting until endless mode to build the larger hit changes the eligibility question; an earlier Pressure start does not make every later hit part of the same eligible segment. SecretModeLiam’s developer reply

FAQ

Does exactly 500 damage qualify?

Yes, the condition says 500 or more in one hit. A 500 total made from separate hits is different. The damage amount must also occur in an eligible mode; meeting the number alone does not override the developer’s normal-mode qualification. Does the Visc report prove a guaranteed Whiplash unlock?

No. It is a report of large approximate damage values and missing achievements, followed by a developer explanation of mode eligibility. It is not a successful Ultrabonk recipe, and it provides no basis for promising the same damage from a particular loadout. SecretModeLiam’s developer reply

Compare a damage branch with a positioning branch

The official 1.2 description gives a concrete damage interaction for Projectile Tongue: Whiplash increases firing speed and multiplies its damage by the player’s Feeding Speed. Sticky instead changes who is pulled according to relative size. This makes the branch choice relevant to a single-hit plan: an easier approach to the target and a larger hit are different benefits, and faster repeated shots alone do not combine into one hit. Inspect the acquired branch and actual Feeding Speed before treating the Visc example as applicable. The announcement provides the scaling relationship, but no guaranteed 500-damage value for an unspecified level or target. If the attempt only produces a larger total through more frequent attacks, return to the single-hit requirement rather than treating that total as evidence of the required impact.
