FAQ

What should I check before planning around Jet?

Check the Tentacles and Secretion prerequisites before planning around Jet.

The Pressure 12 win concerns unlocking the Evolution; the two prerequisite choices concern what can enter this run’s pool. Complete the unlock check before planning those choices.

How should I choose the escape direction?

Once available, aim the escape so the abilities deployed behind you are useful along the pursuit path.

Check the acquired Secretion effects before choosing an escape line; their position behind Darwin is part of the action you are planning, alongside the movement.

Which effects will Jet leave behind?

The 1.2 announcement describes Jet as a Common, three-level Evolution. It explicitly names Spinnerets and Pedal Glands as the Secretion abilities affected by Jet when introduced. Official 1.2 notes

Pedal Glands creates a trail that slows enemies and bosses; crossing that trail raises the player’s Terrain Adaptation. Spinnerets instead deploys a large web behind the player, slowing enemies and bosses that cross it by 66%; that web does not slow the player. Official 1.2 notes

Compare the effects you actually acquired before deciding where to dash. A retreat across a pursuer’s path and a dash toward empty ground leave those effects in different places. Plan the landing spot for immediate safety and the ground behind it for the pursuers; the movement and the deployed effects serve different parts of the escape.

Jet deploys the Secretion abilities you have acquired. It does not grant both named Evolutions merely because the dash is available. If you are planning specifically around a web rather than a slime trail, check for Spinnerets in the loadout instead of treating either prerequisite choice as the whole package.
