Rare Attack

Everything is Crab Trunk Evolution Guide

Trunk and the Tapir’s Trunk cosmetic are different choices. Version 1.1 added the cosmetic as a reward for Challenger 2; its description concerns a shorter, striped appearance, not a new attack or damage bonus. Official 1.1 notes

Practical use

Compare the listed reach with your current attack. If the card imposes a mouth-slot restriction, include that cost before committing; the name alone does not establish a branching-evolution unlock.

Which unlock belongs to Tapir’s Trunk?

Does Challenger 2 unlock the Trunk attack itself?

Challenger 2 is the cosmetic reward condition named in the June 25, 2026 patch. Official 1.1 notes Do not use it as the unlock condition for the underlying Trunk attack.

Can the cosmetic description confirm Trunk’s combat properties?

The cosmetic description does not establish attack range, damage scaling, rarity, or exclusions with Beak or Snout. Compare those fields on the current evolution card before replacing an equipped attack.

Reach

Choose it when attacks miss because you cannot safely close the remaining distance. If hits already connect but do too little damage, compare the appropriate damage stat instead of more reach.

Check that the attack you intend to keep scales with Physical. If the route has shifted to Ability or Social, stop investing here merely because it helped an earlier attack.
