Practical use
- If yellow text such as Ability -10% appears during a social run, treat it as a temporary ally-linked modifier changing state, not as proof that the whole build is broken forever.
- Public Reddit clarification says killing or losing a charmed ally removes the bonus that specific ally was providing; the confusing part is the UI feedback, not a hidden punishment for clearing the map normally.
- A July 15, 2026 Steam discussion adds a second practical warning: there is no visible friendly-fire safety toggle for allies, so social routes still need spacing, calmer attack discipline, and fewer panic swings near your own pack.
- Social routes still need Darwin's own win condition. Use allies for tempo relief, distraction, and safe farm windows, then patch boss damage with one personal attack or survival tool.
- Turtoids and other durable allies are useful partly because they stay alive long enough to keep their value on screen; fragile swarm pieces can look stronger than they really are when they die instantly.
- If the ally package keeps making the run unreadable, simplify it: fewer charm commitments, more dodge or movement, and one clearer personal damage line.
