Everything is Crab Poison Trickster Build Guide

Ability-scaling poison, Stinger routing, and ranged uptime. This route wins by applying damage safely and letting status ticks finish what raw burst cannot.

Route purpose

Ability-scaling poison, Stinger routing, and ranged uptime. This route wins by applying damage safely and letting status ticks finish what raw burst cannot.

Every build can fail if it ignores food economy, movement, or boss timing. Use the linked evolution pages to patch the missing part.

Poisonous Saliva route quick answer

Poisonous Saliva belongs here when the question is damage over time, poison uptime, or a large Ability pressure shell.

Keep it out of no-damage achievement attempts unless you are deliberately testing how the game counts passive damage.

Continue with: Brute, Bruter, Brutest.

Opening checks

  1. Before the first boss, have at least two of food, movement, and mistake budget.
  2. If the core pieces do not appear, stay alive with a conservative shell.
  3. Spend mutagen on the current bottleneck before chasing perfect build identity.

Route phases

  1. Do not force poison without a real poison tool. Stinger, Poisonous Saliva, Poisonous Spores, Cortex, or Synapse are the commitment signals.
  2. If the run is trying to be an Ability build, do not pilot it like a melee Physical shell. Recent player discussion keeps pointing back to the same rule: ranged uptime, spacing, and safe reapplication matter more than face-tanking for raw attack power.
  3. For poison-count routing, treat Stinger and direct poison sources as the clean route; do not rely on Detachable Tail-style incidental damage unless the game counter proves it counts.
  4. Take range and movement early, because poison needs time on target. Spit, Beak, Pistol Pincer, and similar ranged tools work best when they keep Darwin out of bad contact.
  5. Use Bullseye if the run mixes Physical and Ability, especially with Pistol Pincer or hybrid attacks.
  6. Against bosses, focus on uptime: apply poison, move out, reapply before the stack falls behind.

Pivot rules

  1. If two level-ups in a row miss the core pieces, pivot toward the stat line already showing up.
  2. When food collapses, pause damage greed and repair progress, storage, or safe foraging.
  3. When boss damage lags, upgrade one main attack instead of spreading mutagen across every button.

Stat priority

  • Ability
  • Cooldown uptime
  • Range
  • Movement
  • Poison uptime

Common mistakes

  1. Expecting poison to work like burst damage.
  2. Standing still to watch poison tick.
  3. Assuming every indirect damage source counts for poison goals.
  4. Rerolling past survivability because another poison card looks tempting.
