Practical use
- Use the in-game Codex, achievements, and unlock pages to track progress before touching files.
- Public storefront save-path metadata currently points to %USERPROFILE%/AppData/LocalLow/Odd Dreams Digital/Everything is Crab/SyncedData/Steam for the Steam path; verify the active storefront profile before replacing anything.
- No public in-game start-over button is confirmed; full resets are manual and should start with a backup before any file deletion or achievement cleanup.
- Do not edit or download save files unless you have a backup and understand the risk.
- If Steam Cloud or a storefront sync feature is involved, check the client status before assuming the game lost progress.
- Version 1.2 supports mid-run saves in Endless, Challenges, and regular Pressure Runs. One slot records location, stats, evolutions, and nearby creatures; another save or a new run overwrites it, and saving is unavailable during Evolution or POI selection.
- Version 1.2.1 fixes the startup failure caused by a corrupted Resume Run save and adds a warning that lets the game continue while discarding only that interrupted run's progress.
- The earlier manual Slot_1_ResumeRunSnapshot_v1.save workaround is now fallback-only for players who cannot update. Install the current patch first, keep a backup, and never delete the containing save folder.
- For route progress, record genetics, pressure, challenge, and final build so the next run is repeatable.
