Unlock Tracker Guide

Find missing unlocks and distinguish them from challenge victories and highest Pressure records in the in-game Codex.

Run checklist

  1. Choose the missing goal first: an evolution to discover, a genetic to unlock, a creature to find, or a run condition to complete. These are different tasks.
  2. For a locked genetic, read its unlock condition before starting. A victory with another genetic does not tell you which unlock requirement remains.
  3. To check a challenge, select that challenge and open the genetics menu. A tick marks each genetic that has already beaten that challenge, as explained by the developer on July 2, 2026.
  4. For Pressure progress, open Codex Genetics. Each genetic shows its highest cleared Pressure; the run-start splicing menu also shows this as a skull and number.
  5. An optional personal note can record what to try next, but check the game’s progress indicators before repeating a completed goal.

Choose the record that answers your question

A locked option, an undiscovered entry and an unfinished victory requirement call for different checks. Start with the name of the missing thing. If you want to select a Genetic, its unlock condition is the relevant target. If you want to finish every Genetic at a particular Pressure, the relevant evidence is each Genetic’s highest-clear record. A Challenge tick answers a third question: whether that Genetic has beaten the Challenge currently selected.

SecretModeEli’s July 2 reply places these records in two menus: Codex Genetics for highest Pressure, and the chosen Challenge’s Genetics menu for Challenge ticks. This makes a useful distinction when a familiar Genetic appears unfinished. A Pressure victory does not itself explain an absent tick for a different mode, and checking one Challenge’s menu does not audit the others.

Check an unlock against the version that introduced it

Unlock routes changed after launch. Version 1.1 moved several Evolution rewards from Challenges to first Pressure clears. Version 1.2 then added more rewards: Pressure 3, 5, 10 and 12 list Projectile Tongue, Pedal Glands, Spinnerets and Jet respectively. An older route that sends you to a Challenge for an Evolution may describe a real historical requirement while sending a current player to the wrong goal.

Version 1.2 also fixed Full Cast when the final Genetic was unlocked outside a regular run. That fix matters when every Genetic looks available but the achievement did not appear. Check the installed version and the exact unfinished entry before repeating unrelated victories. The patch is evidence for that named registration problem, not a promise that every missing achievement has the same cause.

A short audit before the next attempt

  1. Write down one goal and its exact requirement. “Finish the Codex” is too broad to decide which mode or starting Genetic to choose.
  2. Read the appropriate in-game record before launching. For a Pressure target, compare the number on the relevant Genetic; for a Challenge, select that Challenge before reading its ticks.
  3. Confirm that a required Evolution is already unlocked. A first-clear reward expands later offers; it does not establish that the reward was available during the run that earned it.
  4. After the attempt, compare the same record. Keep a note of the mode and selected Genetic so a successful run is not confused with progress on a different checklist.

FAQ

Does this website read my save?

No. This page explains where to check progress in the game. The website’s guide links and planner do not import a save, unlock items or maintain your Steam achievement state. Use the game’s own entries for a completion decision.

Can I mark two Genetics complete after one spliced run?

The developer’s tracking reply does not answer the question about combined-Genetic credit. Inspect both entries after the result instead of filling in a second completion by assumption. A note about the combination is useful context, but it is not the recorded outcome.

How do I compare two versions of an unlocked Evolution?

Version 1.2 expanded the Evolution Codex to show all rarity tiers and levels. Once the entry is available, inspect the exact tier and level relevant to the offer. Discovering the card, unlocking its availability and comparing its later values are separate tasks; a guide to one does not automatically finish the others.
