Amnesia: Hidden Evolution Offers and Visible Clues

Read the clues on Amnesia’s hidden offers, reassess your options after each reveal, and distinguish the Carcinisation marker from a complete evolution description.

Rules and decisions

  1. Amnesia presents hidden evolution offers marked ???. The official 1.1 update added a Carcinisation symbol to these cards, giving you a clue before the evolution is revealed.
  2. Use that marker when deciding whether to add a Carcinisation choice. It does not tell you the complete effect, so do not commit the rest of your plan to receiving one particular attack or passive.
  3. After a reveal, check what actually changed: your equipped attacks, available movement and access to food. Build around the tools received. If a choice did not solve the gap you were aiming at, keep that gap in mind for the next decision.
  4. The evolution reference can help explain a card once you know its name; it cannot identify an unseen offer. Compare its conditions with your current choices before investing further in a supposed synergy.
  5. For a rule reminder during a run, use the challenge tooltip in the pause menu, introduced in 1.1. These notes describe the documented interface change; they do not establish a full current ban list or a guaranteed sequence of picks.

Before the attempt

Treat the hidden offer as unknown, use only the clue that is actually displayed, then rebuild the immediate plan after the choice is revealed. The Carcinisation symbol added in 1.1 helps identify that category; it does not reveal every effect. A recorded Amnesia success demonstrates a finish, not a predictable sequence of hidden offers. Decisions through the attempt

  1. Before selecting, separate visible information from remembered card art or guesses. The 1.1 notes specifically add a Carcinisation symbol to hidden Amnesia evolutions. Use that clue for the category it identifies, but do not infer the full effect, rarity or next choice from it. A familiar build list describes named components; it cannot tell you which concealed component the current offer contains. Official 1.1 notes

  2. After the choice resolves, inspect what changed before spending the next resource or committing to an encounter. An actual attack, movement option or feeding change may alter which immediate problem can be addressed. If the revealed option does not fill the gap you expected, retain the earlier escape or food plan until a real replacement exists. The useful decision follows the reveal, rather than a guessed identity beforehand.

  3. Reject the tempting border shortcut. TrueStealthyGamer initially reported that hovering a hidden attack highlighted its identity, then corrected the same post minutes later: the brown border remained regardless. The edited report therefore does not establish a working way to identify a concealed attack. Repeating the original claim without the correction would turn a withdrawn observation into instructions for a nonexistent guarantee. TrueStealthyGamer · corrected June 8 report

  4. Compare the finish you see with the objective actually completed. Hydromancerx’s recorded Amnesia result shows a level-72 clear at 20:22, with Challenger2 progress also visible. The result does not reveal the order of hidden choices or a Pressure setting. Completing Amnesia and completing all tier-two Challenges are distinct statements, even when both appear on the same result screen. Neither label reveals a hidden offer. Mistakes and failure boundaries

Do not turn one result into a required stat line. Hydromancerx’s record shows 104 Mutagen, 86 kills, 9,945 damage dealt, 1,618 damage taken, six points of interest and 173/187 final health. Those are observations from that finish, not thresholds for Amnesia. In particular, the high damage taken rules out describing this record as a no-hit run. Hydromancerx · Amnesia result

Do not let an illustrative image supply missing build evidence. The guide’s general gameplay illustration is not Hydromancerx’s level-72 result card. Follow the linked original record for those figures. Neither the illustration nor the finish screen provides a reproducible selection order, and the displayed source date alone does not establish the exact game version used for the run. FAQ

Does the Carcinisation symbol reveal the whole offer?

No. The official change identifies a symbol on otherwise hidden Amnesia evolutions. It does not say that all names, values or effects become visible. Use the specific clue without treating it as a complete card preview. Official 1.1 notes

Can the brown border identify a hidden attack?

The cited June 8 report was retracted by its own author after observing that the border was always present. It does not support a reliable identification method. Keep the correction with the original claim rather than using the first sentence alone. TrueStealthyGamer · corrected June 8 report

Is level 72 or a Pressure difficulty required?

The cited record is one level-72 Amnesia success; it does not establish that level as a requirement or show a Pressure setting. Challenger2 refers to completing all tier-two Challenges. Its presence is not a hidden difficulty label for the individual Amnesia run. Hydromancerx · Amnesia result

Update history

: Added Hydromancerx’s attributed Amnesia result and separated its numbers from requirements. Corrected the retracted border shortcut, explained the limited Carcinisation clue and added three questions without claiming a reproduced route.
