Low ability damage at range. Pair it first with Cortex and Poisonous Saliva and test that relationship in the Poison Trickster route. Range only pays when positioning prevents bad contact.

Recent July 2026 player testing adds one more Spit answer: multiple community replies say Size and Reach scale projectile size, while Spit travel distance itself seems tied more to the attack's rank and tier than to body size.
That same discussion explains why tiny bodies can feel shorter-ranged anyway: the projectile appears to start farther back on a small shell, so the practical hit point reaches the target later even if the listed range is unchanged.
Keep the older cooldown lesson too: the closest thing to machine-gun Spit is still a cooldown-focused route, usually from a Chaos-style opener or challenge modifier. Treat Spit as an uptime weapon, not burst, and only draft it when the run can protect range, food, and repeated firing windows.
