Unlock

Minimalist's current unlock requirement has not been independently confirmed. Check its locked Genetics card before planning an attempt.

Practical use

Compare an empty slot’s bonus with the ability you could equip. If a dash would help avoid attacks that walking cannot, weigh that survival benefit before keeping its slot empty. Do not leave a useful slot empty solely to preserve the bonus.

megad16’s v1.0.1 evaluation reports the 15% per-slot bonus and no starting dash. It does not confirm a body-size threshold for unlocking Minimalist. The author’s favorable rating is a play opinion, not proof that leaving every slot empty is best.

Minimalist FAQ

Should I fill an empty slot as soon as a new option appears?

Compare what that option lets you do with the empty-slot benefit described in megad16’s v1.0.1 evaluation. A missing attack, dash or ultimate is a different practical problem in each case: an escape tool may solve a dangerous crossing, while another attack may duplicate a task your current kit already handles. Keep an empty slot deliberately, rather than rejecting every new button. megad16 · v1.0.1 evaluation

Can I use the reported 15% as a complete damage calculation?

No complete stacking calculation is established here. The reported per-slot Damage and Progress bonus does not by itself specify how every other modifier combines with it. Compare the displayed values and the missing action together; do not turn the historical percentage into a promised damage total or a reason to abandon a needed escape. megad16 · v1.0.1 evaluation

Dash slots and the Progress display

The February 23 demo patch explicitly added the ability to remove dashes while Minimalist was equipped. This explains why very early demo advice can describe different slot controls. It is a historical control change, not a recommendation to remove an escape skill before a dangerous encounter. Official February demo notes

Does the older comparison show a smaller level requirement?

In a May 11 comparison, Silvaqua corrected their initial explanation: the observed difference was more Progress received, not a smaller amount required for the next level. Their reported apple readings changed from 2, 2 and 4 to 3, 2 and 5 with Minimalist. These are that player’s sample readings, not a universal apple value or a complete stacking formula. : Added the February demo dash-removal change and Silvaqua’s May Progress comparison, preserving the corrected explanation and identifying the apple readings as a limited player sample.
