Version 1.2 Preview Archive Guide

Historical archive of the August 7–13 Version 1.2 teaser trail. Version 1.2 is live; use the full patch-notes page for current effects, unlocks, and route advice.

Version details and scope

  1. Day 0 shows Continue Run, and the developer explicitly confirms that mid-run saves are coming in 1.2. Evolution Reveal is already live in 1.1, so it is not a new 1.2 feature.
  2. Day 1 is explicitly framed as a preview of new Genetics and visibly names Elitist and Contrarian. The official post asks players to guess their effects, so any detailed effect text is speculation until a later reveal or patch notes confirm it.
  3. Day 2 developer replies confirm a colored cursor and that the extra status icon is a debuff unrelated to poison. The egg or offspring interaction remains only a visual observation because the post does not name that mechanic.
  4. Day 4 developer replies confirm a new tail and tree changes. The same thread explains that the unusually peaceful opening is a high-Social build state, not a general enemy-behavior rewrite.
  5. Day 5 introduces Darwin and demonstrates the community-designed Sticky Tongue latching onto a target. Exact numbers, unlock conditions, specialisations, and the fourth evolution were not yet specified in that preview.
  6. The official Steam announcement confirms Version 1.2 releases on August 13 with four new evolutions, including the three community winners, and two new Genetics. It is a highlights list rather than the complete patch notes.
  7. Mid-run saves are explicitly listed for Endless, Challenges, and regular Pressure Runs. The same announcement confirms controller snapping, faster D-Pad scrollbar navigation, cursor accessibility settings, several free cosmetics, and general quality-of-life changes.
  8. World generation will add more flora, rocks, and trees and reduce barren areas. The listed fixes stop Clawdia spawning eggs during other attacks, stop Blizzard Moulting from launching the player, and correct an incorrect Steam Deck launch resolution.
  9. Pedal Glands, Sticky Tongue, and Spinnerets are the three named community-designed evolutions inside the four-evolution total, but the fourth evolution and final in-game effects were not specified in that highlights announcement.
  10. That was the final preview state. The full August 13 release notes later confirmed Projectile Tongue, Jet, the two Genetics, exact unlocks, saves, achievements, cosmetics, and the balance pass; use the live 1.2 guide for current behavior.
