Spineapple Identification and Combat Guide

Spineapples imitate fruit, but their reversed stems and visible ground shadows reveal the disguise; circle a group instead of letting it surround you.

Answer first

Spineapples imitate fruit, but their reversed stems and visible ground shadows reveal the disguise; circle a group instead of letting it surround you.

Run checklist

  1. Compare the stem before approaching: a disguised Spineapple's stem points the opposite way from a real fruit stem.
  2. Check the ground shadow when the stem is hard to read. A developer reply identifies the shadow as the second reliable visual tell.
  3. Do not walk into the center of a pack. Circle around the outside so the group cannot surround a slow or large body.
  4. Keep moving while the pack thins. The same developer reply says Spineapples become less brave as fewer remain and can pick one another off during the circle.
  5. Large-body builds should bring attack area or a movement button before committing; if the lane is bad, preserving the run matters more than clearing every fake fruit.
